The members of C. Colegrove Post are requested to meet at the G.A.R. hall on Thursday
afternoon at 1 o'clock, to attend the funeral of their late comrade, John Binder
[The Daily Chronicle, Wednesday, May 8, 1895, p.3, c.1]
John J. Binder living on North Eagle street died Monday noon after years of suffering
and distress.
Drs. Pendell and Joy held a post mortem examination at three o'clock in the afternoon to determine
the exact condition of his of his internal organs as his case was a somewhat complicated and peculiar one.
The investigation we understand was very instructive and interesting to any person engaged in the
study of medical science as related to the cure of disease.

W. S. Durand reports the allowance by the government of a widow's pension to Mrs. John Binder
